Moles boss departs

Bottom side Binfield ring the changes as Garry Haylock's era is no more

Pitching In Isthmian South Central's bottom side, Binfield, last night released a short statement announcing the departure of manager Garry Haylock. It explained:

'Binfield Football Club can confirm that Garry Haylock has today left his role as First Team Manager. The club would like to pass on our thanks to Garry for his hard work and dedication whilst in the role and we wish him all the very best for the future.

Binfield Football Club is now very much focused on turning our season around as we move into the busy Christmas and New Year period. We will be announcing the details of the New Management Team prior to our game against Guernsey this coming Saturday.'

Gary took over in September of 2022, and his Moles finished their first campaign just one place away from the top five. This season, in contrast, has been something of a disaster, and he departs witrh them at the bottom of the table, without a win, and having conceded sixty six goals in seventeen matches.

Gary was previously in charge at Hayes & Yeading and Farnborough.

He had great success at Hayes, taking them to promotion to the National League. He also had a successful spell as first team coach at Exeter City- but he was also incredibly successful as a player, too, particularly in Ireland, where he won five cups and four championships. He also played for a while in Greece, for Panionios, part of the side that reached the Quarter Finals of the Cup Winners Cup under former Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan.
