Monday Night Football!

Moatsiders and Chips in Pitching In Isthmian South Central tonight

It's Monday, and we've football for you- a match which is rather crucial, for the hosts at least.

Merstham, who are six points from safety despite becoming rather difficult to defeat, welcome local rivals Chipstead to the worldflow stadium for a Monday Night Derby. The Moatsiders are in good form, with only two defeats from their last ten matches, but despite having lost fewer matches than any other side in the bottom six are still having difficulties because of an inability to turn draws into victories- they have drawn as many games as they have lost, twelve in all. Three points tonight would put them in touching distance of safety.

We may be doing Chipstead a disservice to suggest that this isn't a crucial match for them, too. The Chips have slipped down the table and find themselves seven points above the drop zone, surprisingly given some superb form earlier in the campaign. The have only one win- and four defeats- from their last six, and will want to arrest that slide as quickly as possible. When the two sides met on Bonfire Night there weren't too many fireworks, Omar Koroma opening the scoring for the Moatsiders only for Kieran Lavery to level from the spot.

Kick off is at 7.45 PM
