Ryman Premier Margate and the Royal School for Deaf Children in Margate are teaming up to offer more opportunities for young players.

Officials at Hartsdown Park founded Margate Deaf Youth Football Club in conjunction with the school last June and are now looking to expand so they can start entering tournaments, put out sides in the Deaf Football League and play in more friendlies.

Affiliated to the Kent FA as part of the Kent Football Association Disability Pan Football, Margate's squad train at Hartsdown Park on Thursday evenings between 4.30pm and 6.30pm and are managed by residential care staff member and fully qualified coach Michael Hickson.

A club spokesman said: "In a bid to be in a position to begin playing friendlies against other local deaf teams and to enter the Deaf Football League and tournaments, the club is now looking to recruit more players for the team. Any player interested in joining the team should contact the manager Michael Hickson on 07958 038047."
