New keeper for the Bees

Sam Amedu is the latest arrival at Basildon United


Basildon United, in fourth place in Pitching In Isthmian North, have strengthened their squad with the signing of goalkeeper Sam Amedu .

Sam is another player who has followed his manager from Fisher FC. According to the SCEFL website he's made half a dozen appearances this season, which followed twenty one last season- and was in goal for the Fisher side which drew with Westfield in the Extra Preliminary Round of this seasons FA Cup before losing the replay. He was also in goal for Fisher when they knocked Sutton Common Rovers and Sittingbourne out of the same competition last season- and held National League South side Welling United to a draw.

He previously spent time with Newcastle Town, who are in Pitching In Northern Premier Division One West, with Stafford Town, who are in the North West Counties League, and also with Stone Old Alleynians and Uttoxeter Town, who play in the Midland Football League.

He played youth football with Leyton Orient.
