New stoppers on roll of honour!

By David Watters

The Ryman League's golden glove awards for November have gone to Leiston's Ashlee Jones, Bury Town's Neil O’Sullivan and Herne Bay's Jack Delo.

The three keepers were named on Friday as the latest winners of the Precision Goalkeeping ‘Golden Gloves’ accolades, sponsored for the first time last season by Nottingham-based Reydon Sports PLC - the UK's largest sports and leisure wholesale and distribution company.

Thanks to their Precision Goalkeeping brand, the trio will receive a pair of Precision Goalkeeping gloves with the prizes provided by ProKit UK, the nominated retailer administering the monthly golden gloves honour on behalf of Precision Training.

In the Ryman Premier, Leiston's Jones will collect his first award since signing for the Suffolk club in August. A member of the Southampton side that reached the FA Youth Cup Final in 2005, the former Canvey Island, Crawley Town, Fisher Athletic, Lowestoft Town and Potters Bar Town stopper conceded two goals in three Premier Division fixtures - a win, draw and defeat for the Blues.

Herne Bay's Delo is the cousin of manager Sam Denly who is also celebrating this weekend after being named as the Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Month for November. The 30-year-old former Folkestone Invicta and Ramsgate keeper was named as the top stopper in Ryman South for his record of a single goal in four wins and a draw for his cousin's side.

Ex-Histon U21 keeper O’Sullivan was signed by Bury in the summer after playing college football in the USA and only took over the number one spot in September in Nick Punter’s absence. Since then he's made the jersey his own and doesn't look like giving it up any time soon after a November that saw him concede a single goal in three wins to collect Precision Goalkeeping's Ryman North award.

Precision Goalkeeping boast an impressive list of keeping talent on their books including Kasper Schmeichel, Kieren Westwood, Tomasz Kuszczak, Darren Randolph, David Forde, Frank Fielding, Brian Jensen, Robert Olejnik, Andy Lonergan, Ian McLoughlin, Trevor Carson and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and former international Alan Kelly.

Former England manager Graham Taylor is lead ‘brand ambassador’ for the company which was established in 2005 and also has official partnerships with the Irish Football Association and the Football Association of Wales.
