New travel partner sponsors awards

By David Watters

Anderson Travel is the newly appointed preferred coach travel partner of the Ryman League.

Operating across the UK and Europe for more than 25 years, Anderson Travel has been appointed as the Ryman League’s first ever preferred partner for coach travel.

As well as offering enhanced deals to the Ryman League’s 72 clubs and their fans, players and officials, Anderson Travel has also agreed to become the inaugural sponsor of a new community awards initiative which will see the most proactive clubs in each division collect new Ryman League Community Club accolades at the end of the season.

The Ryman League’s newest sponsor and commercial partner is well known to many clubs as the company is owned and run by Kingstonian FC joint chairman Mark Anderson who already works with a growing number of member clubs.

After the double announcement, Anderson is looking forward to boosting ongoing efforts to encourage clubs to get more involved in their communities while helping others to save money on coach travel over the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

He said: “I am delighted to be involved in this new joint venture with the Ryman Football league. To sponsor the Ryman League Community Club award is really pleasing as it is given to the club which shows commitment, not only to the first team but to the whole club, including their youth academy, women and disability groups.

“The award also looks at the role of a club within the wider community in which it is located and the good works they are doing which are vital to their future so I’m very proud to sponsor it and promote its aims.”

He added: “At both a personal and a business level, I have been involved in and have loved Non-League football for many years and know just how hard it is to keep a club going. With this relationship we also hope to make travel to the longer away matches more affordable and through the award be able to put a little bit back into this great league we are all involved in.”

Ryman League chair Nick Robinson is looking forward to seeing the new Ryman League Community Awards presented to the most community-minded clubs in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South at next June’s 2017 AGM at London’s Wembley Hilton Hotel.

He said: “An increasing number of our clubs are interacting with their community and we are doing what we can to support their initiatives. I hope that the introduction of an award sponsor will not only recognise the work done by so many clubs but with Mark’s help we may be able to help clubs lower the cost of match day travel.”
