No more Johnson at Sports

Bedfont manager resigns following Tooting defeat

Bedfont Sports have announced that long-serving manager Paul Johnson has resigned from his role, following defeat against Tooting & Mitcham United on Saturday.

Johnson has been in charge for eight years, and steered the club to promotion from the Combined Counties League in 2018. In the intervening years, despite being hit by the pandemic, Sports have had runs to the Third and Fourth Qualifying Rounds of the FA Cup- the best results in their history- with giant killing victories over Lewes, Carshalton Athletic and Dulwich Hamlet. They qualified for the Play Off's last year, finishing third in the Division.

He leaves with his side second from bottom of Pitching In Isthmian South Central, and is pictured, alongside our Chair Nick Robinson, after winning a Manager of the Month Award.
