Non-League convert chosen as chairman

West Ham and Lewes fan Stuart Fuller will have to add another chapter to his book charting his conversion to Non-League football after being unveiled as the new chairman of the Rooks.

Fuller, pictured, was elected by the Lewes board this week as the successor to Terry Parris who stood down in October to become a vice-president at the East Sussex club.

Fuller, one half of the editorial team behind the club's matchday programme and their PA announcer as well as director, wrote 'Dripping Yarns: A Season with Lewes FC' in 2011, three years after first swapping his seat at Upton Park for the Dripping Pan after becoming disenchanted with the rules and regulations for fans in the Premier League.

Fuller was originally elected as a club director in 2011 and in his book he recounts the story of the club's 125th anniversary season in 2010 which coincided with the conversion of the Rooks to the member-owned community club model.

The Rooks were beaten 2-1 at home by Hendon on Saturday after Fuller's election in midweek and one of their new chairman's first tasks will be to oversee the running of a competition for fans to choose a club song.

Officials announced this week that they are looking for an atmosphere-building anthem and are asking supporters to tweet their suggestions to @lewes_cfc or post their choices on the club’s Facebook page.
