Pattison gives K's a chance

By Peter Butcher

A WELL-TAKEN goal by Matt Pattison earned Kingstonian a 1-0 win over Met Police at Kingsmeadow tonight (Tuesday).

Pattison scored after 64 minutes to provide a victory which maintained Kingstonian's outside chance of making the play-offs - they are eight points behind fifth-placed Margate with a game in hand - and dented those of the Met, three points better off but from one extra game.

The visitors thought they had equalised in added time when home keeper Rob Tolfrey, who had been outstanding, could not hold Sam Clayton's shot and Dave Knight fired in the loose ball only to be given offside. It must have been close.

Even then the Met were to have two more chances to salvage a point but could not hit the target.
