Read is right for Blues

Towners striker Alex heads to Wingate and Finchley

Enfield Town have announced that striker Alex Read has left the club to sign for North London rivals Wingate and Finchley.

Read has only been at the end of Donkey Lane for just over a month, after signing from Aveley. He spent last season helping Tonbridge Angels to promotion, scoring thirteen goals; and indeed started this campaign at Longmead, making four appearances for Angels in National League South.

Prior to becoming an Angel he was a rather prolific Hawk, scoring sixteen goals for Harlow Town in 2017-18 and nineteen the season before- indeed, he had a record of a goal every one hundred and forty minutes during his time there.

Since his arrival at Enfield he has made four appearances, including two starts.

Read more on his departure by visiting the Towners website, which you will find here. This is Wingate & Finchley's second attacking arrival in a week, after they brought in Ware's top scorer Oluwaseun Akinsanya last Friday.
