The former Ryman League club’s late manager, pictured, was a widely respected figure in Non-League having played for Uxbridge in the 1960s before taking the helm in 1992.

Before joining the Reds, Mr Talbot was at the helm at Harefield United, Staines Town and Walton & Hersham. As a player, he also turned out for Hillingdon Borough, Staines Town and Walton & Hersham.

His reign at Horton Road lasted 15 years before he left the club during the 2005-06 season after guiding the West Drayton outfit to three London Challenge Cup victories in 1994, 1997, 2000 and two more as losing finalists in 1998 and 1999. A Middlesex Senior Cup success was also secured in 2001.

In a statement posted on their official website on Tuesday, Uxbridge, who finished 10th this season in Southern League One Central, said: "It is with great sadness that the club has learnt that former player and manager George Talbot passed away on Monday 12th May. We convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time."
