Brightlingsea Regent have been given the green light to carry on playing at Ryman League level.

The R's, promoted into Ryman North last season from the Eastern Counties League as runners-up and currently eighth in the table after a successful campaign, have secured the D grade needed for North Road, pictured, to remain playing at Step 4 of football's Non-League pyramid.

Work at the ground has included providing a new players' tunnel, first aid room, stand covering and standing area, with the labour and most, if not all of the materials provided by fans, officials, players and chairman Terry Doherty.

In a statement released by the club thanking everybody who'd helped over many months of work, delighted officials said the ground was now up to the standards necessary to apply for grant funding next year to enclose the whole pitch and further improve facilities.
