Return of the Zack!

By Ian Townsend

Newton returns to Woodside Road.

First he was there. And then he was gone.

And then he was there again. And then he was gone.

But now he's back!

But only on loan...

Worthing last night announced the return of midfielder/striker Zack Newton, on loan from Welling United. Newton, who scored the Mackerel Men's opening goal of last season in the defeat at Metropolitan Police, was soon himself playing for the boys in blue, before returning to the Sussex coast in the depths of winter and scoring in victories against Wingate & Finchley, Leiston, Folkestone Invicta, Tonbridge Angels and Enfield Town as Worthing ended the campaign in magnificent form.

His return to Woodside Road will no doubt be welcomed by the home supporters, and he may well make his latest debut at home to Leatherhead tomorrow.
