Johnny Ashman makes his Canvey debut

Canvey Island had a debutant at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday, as midfielder Johnny Ashman entered the fray with twenty two minutes left in their one-nil victory.

Johnny moves up from East Thurrock United, where he had been since January. He made a dozen Rocks appearances, scoring once- but was also with the Rocks last season, making forty six appearances and scoring ten goals.

In the summer he moved to Haringey Borough, and made twenty four appearances, with three goals. He was part of the Borough side which drew one-one with the Gulls in September.

Prior to his first spell with the Rocks he spent two campaigns with Barking- and and previously played for Clapton, Aveley, Witham Town and Cheshunt.
