Saker signs on for another season

By David Watters

Fans favourite Blake Saker is extending his stay with Leiston for another season in the Ryman League's top flight.

The full-back, pictured, first joined the Suffolk club back in 2004 and has made over 400 league appearances for the Blues despite brief spells away with Felixstowe & Walton United and Lowestoft Town.

A member of the Blues team that won back to back titles in 2011 and 2012, the 34-year-old former Spurs trainee was almost ever present last season and has signed a one year deal.

Blues boss Glenn Driver, pictured with Saker at Victory Road after he signed a new one year deal, said: "I'm very happy to have re-signed Blake. He is a fans favourite and having worked with Blake previously, I know he will add quality to what I consider a very strong squad.

"Blake has a wealth of experience and is very comfortable playing in many positions. He is an attacking player and we want him to go out and express himself and get himself forward to cause the opposition problems."
