In front of a season`s best 502 at Bloomfields, Mark Morsley`s Marketmen did their part, beating Hamlet with goals from Luke Ingram after 36 and 60 minutes, with Dipo Akinyemi replying after 62 minutes. And then news filtered through that the Hillians had been held to a 0-0 draw at Leylands Park in front of 576 so it is the Sussex outfit who finish in a relegation spot.

Elsewhere, bottom-markers VCD Athletic finished on a winning note against Grays Athletic, Tyrus Gordon-Young netting a hat-trick with goals in the fourth, 40th and 81st minutes with Malachi Hudson scoring the other on the hour-mark. Christian Papadimos on 48 minutes and Jermaine Osei on 61 minutes, replied for a youthful Essex side.

Second-bottom Lewes shared a last day 1-1 draw against an East Thurrock United side who would have finished second had they won.

Sam Higgins with his 37th goal of the season gave the Rocks a ninth minute lead that Henry Muggeridge cancelled out in front of 505 at the Dripping Pan.

Farnborough`s fate is still uncertain but they ensured they didn`t finish in the bottom four.

They won 3-0 against already down Brentwood at Cherrywood Road with goals from John Oyenuga after 21 minutes, Dennis Oli 12 minutes from time and a Freddie Grant spot-kick with three minutes go to.

Staines Town will be glad to see this season over and hope to re-group in the summer under Johnson Hippolyte.

They shared a 2-2 Wheatsheaf Park draw with Canvey Island, with Devante McKain giving the Swans a 33rd minute lead that Martin Tuohy eventually cancelled out just past the hour-mark. Jeremy Boakye restored Staines` lead after 72 minutes, only for Tuohy to equalise again less than two minutes later.

It was a similar outcome at Earlsmead between Harrow Borough and Leatherhead, who came back from being a 25th minute Harry Newman goal down to take a 2-1 lead through Olu Adeloye on 49 minutes and Ryan Mahal on 61 minutes, only for Lewis Driver to level four minutes from time.
