Saunders leaves Bay for the Rams

By Ian Townsend

Monty Saunders is the latest to head along the coast to Ramsgate

Following the appointment of former Herne Bay boss Ben Smith as their new manager, Ramsgate have been the club of choice for players departing Herne Bay- and yesterday they added a third former Bay player in a week to next seasons squad.

Monty Saunders joins former Bay team mates Jack Parter and Dan Johnson at the WW Martin Community Stadium. Monty actually played youth football for the Rams before joining Bay, and the young midfielder made his first team breakthrough in the closing stages of last season, playing six times as his club failed to retain their Premier Division status.

Prior to his first team debut he played for Bay's Under 18 side, and prior to that he played for the Rams Under 18 side.
