Scholars and Hornets bow out...

By Ian Townsend

...whilst Leafe continue their cup adventure tonight

Last season, a collection of cup heroics saw Potters Bar Town earn a televised FA Cup tie against Barnet- but this season's competition sadly ended for the Scholars yesterday, as they fell to narrow defeat against National League South side Concord Rangers.

The Scholars took a first half lead through Samson Esan, and held it for thirty three minutes before Rangers got an equaliser, Alex Wall with it. Wall then broke Bar hearts with nineteen minutes remaining to seal victory, and right at the end tempers boiled over with three red cards, two for Rangers and one for the Scholars.

The Second Qualifying Round also proved to be the last step for Horsham, who fell two-one to Havant and Waterlooville in a match played at Bognor Regis Town. Rorrie Deacon and Tommy Wright gave the National League South side the lead, and although Will Miles got one back right at the end for Horsham it wasn't to be enough.

Tonight Whyteleafe will host Burnham at Church Road, the match reversed as Burnham's pitch hasn't yet recovered from the weather related pounding it took on Friday and Saturday. Burnham play in the Hellenic League Premier Division, and defeated Northwood in the last round.
