Securing status comes before cup

Harrow Borough have pulled out of the London Senior Cup to concentrate on securing their status in the Ryman League's top flight.

Barkingside are set to meet Ryman Premier Dulwich Hamlet in the second round of the competition after officials at Earlsmead informed the London FA of their decision with Steve Baker's side currently fifth from bottom and a point above the drop zone at Christmas.

Harrow Borough chairman Peter Rogers said: "Due to the number of outstanding fixtures which sees us already fully committed in midweek until March – without taking into account any inclement weather which may occur – and, in light of our position in the league table, we have taken the decision to withdraw from the London Senior Cup."
