Shot of the Season!

By Ian Townsend

We ask our Pitching In Isthmian photographers to nominate their favourite photograph of the season

We are blessed to have some fantastic photographers pointing their long lenses at the Isthmian action, and we’d like to hear from each of them for a series we’d like to run at the end of the month. Entitled ‘Shot of the Year,’ we’d like each one of our snappers to put forward the favourite photograph they’ve taken during the season just ended, and tell us why its special to them.

So, especially for those who point a camera in anger, here’s the small print!

• It doesn’t have to be an action shot. Whether it’s an image of celebrating supporters, a brilliant goal or a hard-working volunteer, or something entirely different, what makes it special is that you think it’s special. It just needs to be from our league.

We need you to send the image to Ian at townsendaround@gmail.com (or if it is a particularly large file, a link to where it can be downloaded), and add the following information.

• When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

• Why is it important to you?

• Where can we find the rest of your work?

• How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

• What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?

And that’s it. You’ll see the series appear from Saturday 21st onwards.

If you have any questions- or rather than answering the questions yourself you’d rather receive a phone call and leave the writing to Ian- then please just write a quick email with your details.

Our headline image, taken from a match between Hullbridge Sports and Felixstowe & Walton United, comes from the lens of A Bridge Too Far.
