Shot of the Season: Alan Edmonds

By Ian Townsend

We asked our fabulous photographers to pick their favourite photograph of the Pitching In Isthmian campaign, and explain why it’s important to them. Alan takes more fantastic shots than the entirety of the Heybridge Swifts forward line!

When was the image taken (match, event, etc)?

Rob Harvey Heybridge Swifts vs Tilbury FC Isthmian League 22nd October 22

Why is it important to you?

I’ve managed to catch Rob celebrating mid air looking straight down the lens with the Swifts flag and supporters in the background.

Where can we find the rest of your work?

Heybridge Swifts Website

How and why did you begin taking photographs at football matches?

My son plays for one of the Swifts youth teams and he had an opportunity to be a mascot a few years ago and loved it, so we started to go to most games then I thought I would take my camera along and take some pictures and it went from there. My first game was the 10th Feb 2018 and I have been Swifts photographer ever since.

What are your hopes for the forthcoming season?
