Enfield Town are getting behind the efforts of Hereford United fans to form a new phoenix club.

After the record of the Bulls was expunged from the Evo-Stik League Southern this week following the ex-Football League club's collapse before Christmas, officials at the fan-run Ryman Premier outfit have announced that they'll be offering reduced admission to Hereford's fans until the end of the season as an act of solidarity.

Hereford's supporters are hoping to form a new club in time for next season and officials at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium say spectators producing valid Hereford United Supporters Trust membership cards or wearing Bulls shirts or scarves at the turnstiles will be admitted to matches for £5.

A Towners spokesman said: "As the first ever 'supporter owned club' in the UK we have been through the process that now faces Hereford United and as a show of support, we will be offering reduced admission to our remaining home league fixtures for their supporters."

He added: "We wish the HUST the best of luck in their endeavours to get the best possible outcome for their club and hope to welcome them to the QEII Stadium this season."

According to the most recent reports, a group of long-standing Hereford fans and businessmen are pushing ahead with plans to form a new club after pledging £150,000 in start-up funding. They have also registered the name Hereford FC with the FA and are currently in discussions with Hereford Council over the usage of the former club's ground at Edgar Street.

The proposals would see HUST's 1,300 plus members own up to 50 per cent of the new club's shares and take up three seats on a board of seven directors. Herefordshire Council would hold the development rights to Edgar Street to ensure that no benefactor profits from the ground. Additionally, all profits made would be put back into the club with no dividends paid to shareholders.
