Sittingbourne officials are backing striker Joe Taylor’s dream of stepping up from the Ryman League to forge a professional career in Sweden.

The Brickies announced on Thursday that they were expecting the 22-year-old, pictured, to fly out over the weekend for a week long trial with Ostersunds KF who play in Division Two of the Baltic state's Superettan league.

The Ryman South club's proud officials say they had no hesitation in encouraging the forward to follow in the footsteps of Kenny Pavey who left the Brickies in 1998 to forge a successful career in Sweden.

Brickies Secretary John Pitts said: "Sittingbourne FC are delighted. Although Joe is a key member of the squad, the club had no hesitation in offering their full support to him, as we would with any other player who has earned the opportunity to play at a higher level. I’m sure everybody connected with the club would like to offer Joe the best of luck in the pursuit of his dream."
