Support Prostate Cancer UK on Non League Day

By Ian Townsend

12th October is the date-please help stop prostate cancer from being a killer

Prostate Cancer UK is the proud official charity partner of Non-League Day (12 October 2019) and the league will be getting behind the campaign to help stop prostate cancer being a killer. We’re calling on clubs and fans to fundraise for Prostate Cancer UK and raise awareness of a disease killing one man every 45 minutes this Non-League Day.

Register today (or before Friday 4th October) to get a Prostate Cancer UK fundraising pack full of things to help you hold a match day collection and raise awareness on 12 October- and if you would like any additional materials including merchandise and awareness literature, email football@prostatecanceruk.org.

We ask that all clubs playing at home host a match day collection and encourage you to hold an additional fundraiser/s, such as a 50/50 raffle or half time fan event, e.g. cross-bar challenge.

You can also find more fundraising ideas, hints and tips by visiting www.prostatecanceruk.org/nonleagueday.

Prostate Cancer Facts:
· Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 44,000 men are diagnosed each year in the UK, that’s1 in 8, and 1 in 4 for black men.
· It kills one man every 45 minutes. That’s two men between kick-off and the final whistle.

· In 2019, 11,000 men will die from this disease. We believe men deserve better.

· You are making a lifesaving difference, helping to provide better diagnosis, better treatment and better support to the men and their families facing prostate cancer today.
