Margate midfielder Lewis Taylor is expected to miss the next two months of the Ryman Premier campaign after it was confirmed that he's broken his cheekbone.

The former AFC Wimbledon, Whyteleafe, Horsham, Tonbridge Angels, Bromley, Kingstonian, Whitehawk, Hampton & Richmond and Carshalton Atheltic player was injured on the stroke of half-time during his side's 2-1 reverse at Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night after opening the scoring at Champion Hill.

In a club statement confirming the injury, officials said the 28-yer-old was visiting a specialist on Friday and is likely to undergo an operation on his cheekbone within the next week to repair the damage.

Margate manager Terry Brown was naturally disappointed with news and is hoping a player he previously worked with at the Dons between 2008 and 2010 and signed again this summer, makes a speedy recovery after the break was confirmed.

He said: "I feel desperately sorry for Lewis as he has been a massive factor in our great start to the season. Knowing Lewis though and his commitment to football I know he will be back as soon as possible and raring to go. Everyone would like to wish Lewis all the best in his recovery."
