Tea Bars of Non League

By Ian Townsend

A new calendar for a new year, celebrating several of our clubs- you can almost smell the burgers and taste the cheesy chips

Corinthian-Casuals photographer and programme editor Stuart Tree doesn't watch all of his football in Tolworth, and he doesn't only watch Casuals. Instead he spends a great deal of his free time moonlighting at other football grounds (and for some inexplicable reason, watching cricket), always with camera in hand, and has taken to photographing tea bars, for reasons we've never quite understood. Last year he released a special calendar highlighting these bastions of the culinary arts, and it went so well that this year he has done it again- so welcome Non-League Football Tea Bars, 2022!

A number of our clubs are featured- indeed Whitstable Town make the front cover, which is far more prestigious than being the Time Magazine Person of the Year. They are joined by the likes of Tooting & Mitcham United, Wingate & Finchley, Corinthian-Casuals, Folkestone Invicta and Binfield, along with many more- well, as many more as it will take to add up to sixteen, anyhow. It is apparently the 'perfect stocking filler for any non-league football lover'- even, we suspect, for those who don't wear stockings. How Stuart dresses in his own free time is his own business.

It really is properly wonderful- the only thing it lacks is a Bovril scratch 'n' sniff cover, so perhaps Stuart can consider that for next year. For more information, please head here.
