Thatcham manager departs

Kingfishers part company with Jamie Leacock

Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Thatcham Town last night announced the departure of manager Jamie Leacock.

In a statement on the club website, they explained:

'Thatcham Town Football Club announce that Jamie Leacock has left his role as first team manager by mutual consent. It is with great regret that we have come to this decision but the last few weeks have been disappointing.

We would like to thank Jamie for all his hard work in rebuilding a team under very difficult conditions.'

Yashwa Romeo steps into the hotseat, and Sam Loades joins as first team coach.

Jamie has been in charge since the spring of 2020, and leaves the club in fourteenth place, four points above the bottom three. He was previously in charge of South Central rivals Northwood, and has also been a player and captain of the Kingfishers.

His managerial career started as part of the managerial team at Hungerford Town, who he helped to promotion to National League South, and to Wealdstone, where he had more success.
