The Worthing Hokey-Cokey

By Ian Townsend

Two in and three out, as Hinshelwood shakes his squad about!

Yesterday morning the red section of West Sussex was thrown into turmoil with the announcement that Sam Rents, Will Miles and Jared Rance were leaving the club. Worthing, who are going through a difficult time at the moment with six defeats from their last ten matches, were ringing the changes- but their fans were clearly worried about this turn of events if comments on social media were a good indicator.

They weren't left to worry for long.

Before bedtime Worthing had demonstrated that they had been simply freeing up space for new arrivals, as in came full back Billy Barker from Burgess Hill Town (his brother Danny is already at Woodside Road), and Zack Newton from Welling United. Barker had made fifteen appearances for the Hillians this season but most recently had been warming the bench, so decided to make a move in the hope of more playing time; whilst Newton has been in and out of Woodside Road so many times he may well be attached to a bungee rope- but is greatly loved by the home faithful and will be welcomed back from Welling with open arms.

Worthing travel to Leatherhead tomorrow.
