Three Bees

Ben Allen, Toby Barlow and Elwin Lartey sign on for Basildon- and debut in victory

Basildon United had three debutants in their squad as they defeated Witham Town on Saturday.

Ben Allen, a midfielder who is not to be confused with Aveley's number seven, has spent much of the last four seasons turning out for Southend Manor in the Essex Senior League. More recently he has been with White Ensign, and has scored three goals this season.

Toby Barlow spent last season with Enfield, but has more recently been with our former North Division side Romford- and indeed played for Boro in their FA Cup wins over Hashtag United and Potters Bar Town this season.

Elwin Lartey spent time with Brightlingsea Regent during the 2019-20 campaign, playing twice, and played a number of times during pre-season in 20-21 before moving on. He moved to Regent from Harlow Town.

The defender was a Hendon youth player before moving to Harrow Borough. He joined the Hawks in the summer of 2019, and made twenty two appearances. He has also spent time with FC Clacton.
