Three new Essex Regents

Brightlingsea add three

Brightlingsea Regent appointed former Colchester United legend Kem Izzet as their new manager early this week, so nobody should be surprised that he has headed back to his former club to make two of his first three signings.

First in is striker Jake Hutchinson, who is the top scorer in the Under 18’s Professional Development League with nine goals. You might recognise him, as he spent loan time at East Grinstead Town, Maldon & Tiptree and Grays Athletic last season.

Jake is joined by Portuguese winger Diogo Freitas-Gouveia- who has five goals of his own. Diogo takes a mean free kick, and has spent some time at Maldon & Tiptree this season, appearing in their Velocity Trophy victory at Felixstowe and Walton United. Both sign on initial 28 day loans.

Midfielder Warren Thomas is the other arrival. Warren most recently turned out for East Thurrock United, arriving in the summer. He spent time with Ashford Town last season, making fourteen appearances, and previously turned out in the Isthmian League for Waltham Abbey back in 2016-17, when the Abbotts were in the North Division. He has also played for Staines Town and Metropolitan Police.
