Top bosses collect first accolades!

By David Watters

Wingate & Finchley's Keith Rowland, Brightlingsea Regent's James Webster and Malcom Porter at South Park are the Ryman League's first Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Managers of the Month of 2017!

Named on Tuesday as January's winners of the monthly accolades in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South respectively, the trio are looking forward to being measured up for new suits by Nicholas Rowe Tailoring after being named as the Ryman League's first managerial maestros of 2017.

For the third season running the trio will be able to choose from three colours and a range of designs at the long-established Surrey-based tailors’ 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill as well as being presented with inscribed glass trophies to record their achievements from Macron, the joint sponsors of the monthly awards and the league's official kit suppliers.

While there's no restriction on the number of suits that can be won over the course of the campaign, joint bosses must win more than once with the monthly prize from Nicholas Rowe Tailoring restricted to one suit per winning club under the terms of a unique sponsorship deal in English football.

Blues boss Kieth Rowland wins his first monthly award for his side's great start to 2017 in taking 18 points from a possible 24 on offer to climb to within four points of the play-off spots. Undefeated in the Ryman's top flight in January, the former Bournemouth, West Ham and Queens Park Rangers defender guided the Blues to six straight wins after drawing their first two outings of 2017.

Thanks to guidance of Webster, Brightlingsea Regent are only three points behind Ryman North leaders Maldon & Tiptree with two games in hand. Webster collects the division's laurels for his side's record of five wins and two draws. Along the way, they pulled off some outstanding wins away from home led by a 4-1 victory at Romford and 4-3 success at Bowers & Pitsea in their next outing.

South Park's Malcom Porter earns the Ryman South's accolade for flying the flag for the Ryman League as far as the second round proper of the FA Trophy before his side's exit at former Football League side Tranmere Rovers. Porter also guided his Sparks to victory at Harrow Borough in the third round of the Alan Trophy sponsored by Robert Dyas and four straight wins in the league to keep them in with a chance of reaching the play-offs with up to eight games in hand on some of the sides above them.
