Tuesday's Ryman Premier review

Ryman League Premier Division

There were two games in the Ryman League's Premier Division on Tuesday night with AFC Hornchurch returning to the top of the table after a 1-0 win against Bognor Regis Town at Bridge Avenue, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

A George Purcell volley 19 minutes from time was enough to seal the points and send the Urchins top. Hornchurch kept a clean sheet for the second match in succession, and rarely looked like conceding a goal, with keeper Inigo Echepare only having one direct shot to save all night.

It also finished 1-0 in the other match at Hartsdown Park between Margate and bottom-markers Carshalton Athletic. Recent signing Gary Borrowdale's 71st minute header eventually proved enough to earn 'Gate all three points.
