Tuesday's Ryman South action review

By David Watters

Hythe Town and Hastings United both suffered blows to their Ryman South play-off hopes on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Fifth-placed Hythe suffered a shock 3-0 at their own Reachfields patch by mid-table Walton Casuals, who were two-up at half-time through Omar Folkes after 25 minutes and Gabriel Odunaike seven minutes later.

Scott Day added a third after 65 minutes but keeper Joe Mant prevented further punishment for Hythe when he saved a penalty in injury-time from Liam Collins.

Hastings, a place and two points behind Hythe, were edge out 2-1 at Molesey, who are now level on points with the Sussex side in seventh.

Charlie Samuels gave the hosts the breakthrough on the hour-mark, only for Sam Cruttwell to level six minutes later. But a stoppage time Tom Windsor effort sealed victory for Molesey.
