Turner hails new recruit

Midfielder Michael Jenner is looking forward to making his Ryman League debut with Faversham Town after being hailed by manager Ray Turner.

The Ryman South boss heaped praise on Jenner after he impressed for the Lilywhites during last Saturday's entertaining pre-season defeat against League One Gillingham.

The former Herne Bay player signed at Salters Lane last week after spending last season at Hollands & Blair and Turner revealed afterwards that he's been playing for his place at the club.

Turner told www.kentonline.co.uk: "I thought he did well on Saturday. His distribution was excellent. He was on trial but I kept it to myself.

"He wasn’t sure he was going to play this year as he has a young family but he’s shown ambition to play at a higher level with us. He’s going to be an important player for us and is another technically good player in our midfield."
