Two for Wands

By Ian Townsend

Bailey Akehurst and Chevron McLean are new at Cray Wanderers

Cray Wanderers had two new names in their squad as they fell to narrow defeat against Wingate & Finchley at the weekend- although one of them was making a second debut!

Left back Bailey Akehurst arrives on loan from Gillingham. Bailey, who has featured on a number of occasions for the Gills first team, played twice for the Wands last September, and has since spent loan time with Hastings United, although he played only once, in defeat against Aveley.

Chevron McLean moves down on a dual registration deal from Cheshunt, these days in National League South. He spent Saturday afternoon on the bench. Chevron has recently spent time with Kingstonian, making six appearances- the last of them on January 28th. Full back Chevron was part of the Cheshunt squad which won promotion via the play off's last season- indeed he made forty appearances for the Ambers, including a starring role in that Final victory over Hornchurch.

Prior to the Ambers he played for Billericay Town, Maldon & Tiptree, Molesey, South Park, Staines Town and St Neots Town.
