A double signing as Cruise Nyadzayo and Darren Phillips head to Sittingbourne

Sittingbourne's search for success next season has seen manager Ryan Maxwell look North for his latest signings, as Cruise Nyadzayo and Darren Phillips arrive at Woodstock Park.

Forward Cruise, who worked with his new boss at Braintree Town, spent last season with Bury Town- his second spell at Ram Meadow. He made thirty eight appearances- with four goals- last season, and he made forty two appearances with eight goals during his previous spell. In between his two spells at Bury he spent time with Braintree Town and- briefly- with AFC Sudbury, and he has also played for Lowestoft Town and Wroxham.

Defender Darren makes the move from Faversham Town- but has spent the majority of his career in our North Division, leaving his previous club, Heybridge Swifts, in January.

Darren joined Swifts in October 2021, and last season made thirty two appearances as his side had a magnificent run in the FA Trophy and climbed to third place in the League. He also weighed in with an impressive eight goals, including two in a thrashing of his former club, Tilbury.

Darren had previously returned to Tilbury in July of 2020, and made fifteen appearances- seven during the 20-21 season (what there was of it) and eight more in 21-22 before heading to Scraley Road. He also made forty two appearances for the Dockers during a period spanning part of 2018-19 and part of 2019-20, and later went on to play for Canvey Island, making seven appearances towards the end of the 2019-20 season.

In May of 2019 he was announced as a new arrival at Aveley- where he was Danny Dafter's first signing- but didn't make a start at Parkside, heading back to the Dockers before moving on to another previous club, Basildon United.
