Merstham bring in two loan signings from the Football League

Merstham last night announced the arrival at the Whisky Bible Stadium of two Football League loan signings, as defender Luke Ige arrived from Colchester United and Emmanuel Fernandez arrived from Gillingham- just in time for today's home match against third place Horsham.

Luke started his career with Aston Villa, coming through their Academy before leaving the club last summer. He signed for Colchester on a one year deal and went into the Under 23 squad. The right back also spent some time on loan at Witham Town this season, making seven appearances, his last coming in the defeat against Brentwood Town earlier this month.

Fernandez, also a defender, spent some time on loan at Margate earlier this season. He played twice, in the victory over Concord Rangers in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round and in the narrow league defeat against Carshalton Athletic.

The Moatsiders also announced the arrival of midfielder Calvin Ekpiteta, but we told you about that a few days ago- read more here.
