Tooting and Mitcham United yesterday announced two new signings, gave one of them an immediate debut, but sadly for home fans at Imperial Fields couldn't pick up any points as they fell to defeat against a resurgent Chertsey Town.
The first signing was Duncan Culley, a striker who formerly played for Hayes & Yeading United and Hampton & Richmond Borough. Duncan scored sixteen goals for Hayes as they won the South Central title last season, and twenty one the season before. He scored eleven goals in his time with the Beavers, and also spent time at Whitehawk- although his time there ended in acrimony as he ended up taking the club to court for unpaid wages- Bishop's Stortford and Bromley. He was on the bench yesterday.
The second was Three Bridges defender Antone Douglas, who went straight into the first team. Antone had made twenty one appearances for Bridges this season, thirty one last season, and previously played for Crawley Town, Billericay Town, Histon, Carshalton Athletic, Worthing, Waltham Forest, Merstham and Whyteleafe.
