Midfielder Kris heads to Basildon

Basildon United last night confirmed that they had signed former East Thurrock United midfielder Kris Newby.

Kris had three spells with the Rocks, but spent last season with Tilbury, where he made 31 appearances. By a quirk of fate he could be facing the Dockers for the Bees tonight in the Velocity Trophy.

He also spent some time with Tilbury during the 2017-18 season, although he ended it with Romford; and has additionally played for VCD Athletic, Aveley and Great Wakering Rovers, amongst others.
