Velocity Trophy- knockout stages

By Ian Townsend

The draw for the knockout stages of the Velocity Trophy was made yesterday. Here are the details.

The draw for the Second Round of the Velocity Trophy was made yesterday, and it sees our Premier Division clubs join the competition. Whilst there are still a number of outcomes from the group stages to be decided, we hope to be able to fill in some more names by the end of the week!

Amongst the ties are a number of all-Premier clashes. Worthing and Cray Wanderers, who played out a thrilling draw in the league at the weekend, will meet again- this time at Woodside Road- whilst East Thurrock United and Bishop's Stortford will find themselves meeting in both League and Cup over a very short period.

Folkestone Invicta have lost only one home match all season, so imagine their delight when the side that beat them- Bognor Regis Town- were given the chance to do it again; whilst we have a Surrey derby between Kingstonian and Merstham. The K's won their league encounter in August by a single goal.

Margate and Carshalton Athletic will meet at Hartsdown Park, whilst Wingate and Finchley will host Bowers and Pitsea in a repeat of the opening match of the season, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
