Wanderers slip, whilst Millers soar

Without a league defeat since mid August, and 2-0 up after only 21 minutes, if that shouty actor had been allowing fans to "bet in play" surely none of them would have bet against Dorking Wanderers grabbing another three points last night. But Haringey Borough had other ideas.

It started out by looking like just another Dorking victory. First James McShane and then Niall McManus found the net, and Wanderers supremacy went unbroken until the last minute of the first half, when Joseph Staunton pulled a goal back for the home side. The second half, however, saw Borough continue their recent form by adding two further goals, both coming from Coby Rowe, to record their third win in a row- and perhaps most impressively each of these victories came against a side in the top five; indeed, two of them against the top two.

Wanderers remain at the summit, three points clear of Tonbridge Angels- but perhaps ominously only four points clear of Worthing, who have three matches in hand. Borough climb to twelfth, but if they win their matches in hand could join Wanderers in the top five.

The North Division has three clubs tied at the top, Bowers & Pitsea, Coggeshall Town and now Aveley each having 28 points. The Millers took on Canvey Island in an Essex derby last night, and eased to a 2-0 victory with goals from Marcus Milner and Sam Mvemba- one in each half. It was the Millers fifth league victory in a row- and indeed they've lost only two of their last ten matches.

We've a number of exciting matches tonight. In the Premier Division Wingate & Finchley entertain Kingstonian, whilst the North has AFC Sudbury hosting Brentwood Town and Tilbury entertaining Witham Town. In the South Central Division, Bracknell Town could go back to the summit with victory at Cheshunt, whilst the Ambers would go third if they picked up the points. A resurgent Molesey- unbeaten in four, with two victories- travel to Uxbridge, who will be looking to follow up their victory at the weekend with another.

The Velocity Trophy sees AFC Hornchurch take on Chipstead, Folkestone Invicta entertain Hayes & Yeading Utd, Hastings United host Merstham, and a battle between the third and second place sides as Worthing host Tonbridge Angels.
