Wednesday Night round up

By Ian Townsend

We had a selection of friendly matches last night, including some against professional opposition. Here's what happened.

Rounding up friendlies is anything but an exact science, as we're relying entirely on social media. But here, to the best of our knowledge, is what happened last night.

Bognor Regis Town saw Portmouth travel along the A27, and the two couldn't be separated, delivering a one-one draw. Nik Dembele was the Rocks scorer. Image Martin Denyer- full set here.

Hastings United also faced professional opposition at the other end of the A27, welcoming Ipswich Town Under 23's to Pilot Field. The Tractor Boys left two-one winners, Ben Pope scoring for the hosts.

Not to be outdone, Margate welcomed Fulham to Hartsdown Park. The visitors left with a three-one win, with Kieron McCann scoring for the Blues.

Lancing travelled to Billingshurst and won NINE-nil. Jake Newhouse and Mo Zabadne were among the scorers.

Over in Essex, Romford welcomed Coggeshall Town, and the hosts won one-nil. Grays Athletic entertained Hornchurch, and defeated the Urchins by two goals to one. Callum Watts and Brian Moses scored for Athletic, Liam Nash got one back for the visitors.

Moving further east, Newmarket Town welcome North Division newboys Wroxham, and the Yachtsmen were victorious, winning by four goals to two.

Off to Kent once more, and Chatham Town took on Welling United- only twenty four hours after they played Welling Town. The National League South side left with a four-one victory, Ogunseye with the Chats goal. Sevenoaks Town defeated Tooting & Mitcham United three-nil and Ebbsfleet United defeated Ramsgate by the same score in games we hadn't seen advertised (sorry, otherwise we'd have mentioned them yesterday).

Just off the M25, Potters Bar Town welcome Maidenhead United. A seven goal thriller was the result, with the visitors emerging victorious- but only just. Dickson, Boachie and Monville scored for the Scholars, who were three-two up with twenty minutes left.
