There was little riding on the outcome apart from pride of performance and final placings but some players were also playing for their futures with their respective teams.
The Tanners took a 1-0 lead through Ryan Mahal after 36 minutes. And less than a minute later the visitors doubled their advantage through Phil Walsh after good work from Matt Bodkin.
The Hillians got themselves back into the game two minutes after the break when Dan Pearse converted a penalty but the Tanners held on to move six points clear of their opponents in fifteenth spot.
