Wingate and Finchley to host charity tournament in aid of stricken former player

Blues to play host to the Spencer McCall tournament at their training ground near High Barnet Tube

Former Wingate & Finchley player Spencer McCall was sadly diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and the football community is coming together in a big way to help him fight the disease. The latest fundraising effort will be a tournament on Saturday 13th July which will be held at the Blues training complex near High Barnet Station, and feature our BetVictor Premier side along with former Isthmian favourites Hendon, a quartet made up by Hemel Hempstead Town and Royston Town.

The tournament will take place at Wingate's training complex on Barnet Lane (postcode EN5 2DN) which is about an 8 minute walk from High Barnet Station on the Northern Line, and all matches will be thirty minutes each way. The schedule is as follows:

12:00 PM Kick-Off Wingate & Finchley v Hemel Hempstead Town (Grass pitch)
12:30 PM Kick-Off Hendon v Royston Town (3G pitch)

Then:

2:00 PM Kick-Off 3rd & 4th Play-Off
2:30 PM Kick-Off Final

Please use public transport as you might struggle to park (although there is a car park at High Barnet Station should you choose to drive). You can pay what you want, but as all proceeds will go towards supporting Spencer with his ongoing treatment, please give as generously as you can. You can also visit the Just Giving Page, HERE..

By the way, the headline image shows the training ground being opened. We didn't want to use a picture of the stadium on Summers Lane in case people looked at it and went to the wrong venue!
