New Northwood signing makes an immediate impression

Northwood signed midfielder Charlie Hayford from Hitchin Town yesterday morning, and within eight minutes of his debut he had given them the lead against Bracknell Town.

The former Tottenham Hotspur youth player, who then went on to play Under 23 football for Sheffield Wednesday before turning out for Hemel Hempstead Town, Chesham United and Bedford Town, amongst others, signed for Hitchin in July. He won two trophies with the Owls Under 23 side, joining them from Spurs aged nineteen, before moving to spend some time in Johannesburg with the then South Africa champions Bidvest Wits.
