Yellas striker heads to The All

By Ian Townsend

From Ascot United to Southall for Brendan Matthew

Southall, third in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, have announced the signing of Ascot United's star striker Brendan Matthew.

Brendan has been prolific in front of goal this season. Although Ascot have had mixed fortunes, the striker has already scored twenty one goals- although he didn't manage to get one when the Yellas lost three-one against The All last month. His arrival is an enormous coup for Southall, particularly when paired with Jaden Thompson-Brissett, who has twenty two.

Brendan joined the Yellas at the start of last season, and delivered an incredible forty six goals in fifty matches, helping his side to the Combined Counties Premier title and winning the FA Vase at Wembley. Prior to his time as a Yella he played for Harrow Borough, Hanwell Town, Beaconsfield Town, Egham Town, Staines Town and Chertsey Town. Earlier in his career he played for AFC Wimbledon.
