Fans getting together to back champions

Needham Market’s fans are in the process of setting up an official supporters club to back Mark Morsley’s Ryman North champions as they prepare to play at the highest level in the club’s history.

The Marketmen say the first official supporters club at Bloomfields will seek to raise their profile in their local community and throughout Suffolk while raising funds for Morsley’s side “wherever and whenever it can” when they kick off in the Ryman's top flight in August.

Supporter Mandy Hardy has agreed to become the treasurer of the new group with Mark Coleman from the Suffolk club’s committee taking the role of interim chairman.

Coleman said: "We will start with a smallish number of members but that will grow. As we increase the club's fanbase more will join and everyone is welcome.

“We pride ourselves as Suffolk's family club with more families attending our home games. We are open to anyone who wishes to join but ask that members help where they can with fund raising."

Membership fees for the group’s inaugural season have been set at £2. For more information contact Mark Coleman at: mark.coleman40@outlook.com.
