Wednesday's Ryman Premier action review

By David Watters

Grays Athletic had the opportunity to return to the top of the Ryman League Premier Division table on Wednesday night when they travelled to lowly Leatherhead, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

But Mark Bentley`s side, who won 6-0 in the Emirates FA Cup last Saturday against Essex Senior Leaguers Hullbridge Sports, suffered a 3-0 defeat at Fetcham Grove to leave Leiston still heading the table by two points.

Josh Gallagher gave the Tanners a 13th minute lead that he doubled 15 minutes later. Then on 64 minutes, former Basingstoke Town and Grays midfielder Wes Daly made sure the points stayed in Surrey with number three.

Tonbridge Angels moved to within a point of Grays in third spot after beating third-bottom and managerless Lewes at the Dripping Pan, the only goal of the game coming two minutes before injury-time from Luke Blewden.
