A pair of Swans

Two more for Staines Town

Staines Town yesterday announced the dual-registration signings of midfielder Jeevan Panesar and defender Jordan Simmons, from Hartley Wintney and Walton & Hersham.

Panesar, who formerly turned out for Windsor, also plays international football for Punjab FC, part of the CONIFA Federation. He played briefly in the Isthmian South Central Division last season for both Egham Town and Hayes and Yeading United, and signed for Hartley Wintney at the end of last month.

Simmons is a goalkeeper according to his profile on the Walton & Hersham website, but given he was wearing the number six shirt in last night's County Cup defeat against Wealdstone we suspect that is a mistake, unless he's multi-talented! He joined the club in January of last year and apparently- if the website is correct- he's scored two goals, which is superb for a number one!

Good luck to both players at Wheatsheaf Park.

Where next?

Worthing sign new stadium naming deal Woodside Road will now be known as The Crucial Environmental Stadium!
