A South East Non League Day

By Ian Townsend

We've some fabulous football in prospect across the Pitching In Isthmian South East as our sides step out for Non League Day- here's what we have to tempt you

Erith & Belvedere will be trying to kick start their hopes of survival by defeating Horndean, and they are also collecting for their local food bank, so anyone who brings an in-date tinned donation will get in for a fiver.

Three Bridges also have a food donation offer, but they are looking for Easter eggs! The club are offering anyone who brings an Easter egg to their match against Ashford United half price entry, any donated eggs given to local food banks and charities.

Beckenham Town gave their survival hopes a big boost with victory at Hythe Town in midweek, and the Becks will hope to use that as inspiration as they welcome promotion chasing Sittingbourne. Broadbridge Heath have been in superb form of late, and the Bears have Phoenix Sports making the trip to West Sussex, the visitors in desperate need of points to ensure that any late revivals by the bottom two don’t plunge them into trouble.

Chichester City welcome Sheppey United. Chi have opened up a four point gap between themselves and sixth place but have played a game more than the sides chasing them, so won’t want to slacken up now, whilst the Ites are thirteen points further back but have played three fewer matches.

Leaders Cray Valley PM welcome Hythe Town in a match vital for both sides. The Millers may need victory to hold onto top spot, the visitors are ten points away from the top five with three games in hand, and can’t really afford to drop many more. Second place Ramsgate have a similarly massive match as they welcome fourth place Lancing- and the Rams will be looking for revenge after the Lancers defeated them four-two in January.

East Grinstead Town host a Sussex derby against Burgess Hill Town, the Wasps hoping to widen the eight point gap between themselves and the bottom two, whilst Herne Bay hope to close in on a top five spot by defeating Sevenoaks Town.

Littlehampton Town have gone six matches without a win and lost their last four, so Golds fans will hope they can get back to winning ways as Merstham come to call.
